2007 Marks another Successful Year!
Turnout at the 2007 Advanced Manufacturing & Technology Show (AMTS) demonstrated the continued strength of the advanced manufacturing, tooling and machining sector - and the growing success of AMTS as a regional trade show.
The third annual event attracted nearly 140 exhibitors in a broad range of categories, including tooling, automated machinery, robotic solutions, fabricating methods, information processing and manufacturing management consulting. Attendance was strong, with turnout estimated at approximately 3,000 people.
"We knew this year's show was going to be strong when requests for tickets outpaced our supply," said Angelia Erbaugh, executive director, Dayton Tooling and Manufacturing Association (DTMA). Erbaugh said the show also saw 8 percent growth in terms of floor space and topped last year's exhibitor count.
The show also featured DTMA's second annual BotsIQ competition, in which teams of high school and community college students, mentored by manufacturers, design and build their own robots and compete head-to-head. This year, 58 teams of students participated in the competition, compared to 39 in 2006.
