THE 7TH ANNUAL BOB FOWLER MOTORCYCLE RIDE
Mark your calendar for The 7th Annual Bob Fowler Motorcycle Ride scheduled for Saturday October 23 and Sunday October 24, 2010. Bring your camera! There are two days available for rides this year. Each ride will be a full day of some of local roads and beauty with lunch along the way. You may choose one or both of these rides. On Saturday we plan to head north to the Stations Inn, a popular, unique and bike friendly lunch destination just yards off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. From there we will ride along parts of the Parkway in the North Carolina Mountains for around 50 miles before heading back southeast through the Town of Blowing Rock and on toward the Charlotte area. This ride around 230 miles and will take a full day. Sunday we will explore the back roads of Southwestern North Carolina to visit Chimney Rock area, Lake Lure (see the lake in the movie Dirty Dancing) and the Town of Hendersonville. Lunch will be at Lake Lure. The ride should be more leisurely except for one or two good twisties. This will be less than 200 miles to allowing us to get back a bit earlier. Weather: In October the average highs for the ride should be between 60 and 70 degrees with the morning starting off in the mid 40 to 50 degrees. This could fall in the peak of the fall leaf color change if we are lucky and we should break the snow/rain pattern we have had for the last three years.
REGISTRATION The registration of $50 per person per ride will include a 7th Annual Bob Fowler Ride t-shirt, drinks and snacks along the way. Click HERE for the registration information
