Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is one of the largest airports in the United States, linking ten million passengers between mid-America and other US cities, with international arrivals also handled. Kansas International Airport is a principal hub for the states of Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska.
Located just 20 minutes drive to downtown Kansas City, MCI Airport provides a choice of fast transport links to the city. This state-of-the-art airport is notable for its easy terminal access, minimal number of flight delays and lack of congestion, establishing it as one of the most convenient commercial airports in the world. MCI Airport has three terminals that serve domestic flights, with one serving international arrivals. Ticket counters and airline gates are located close to each other for efficient passenger boarding. MCI Airport now provides parking spaces for 23,305 vehicles.

Driving Directions
Kansas City International Airport is located close to two major highways: I-29 and I-435. I-435 functions as a ring road for Kansas City and connects with I-35. Another road connected to I-35, I-635, also passes near the airport. These two highways are useful for travelers going to and from points in Kansas, Missouri and other states.
From Kansas City Center
Proceed towards Broadway Boulevard, which becomes Broadway Street, then turns into Broadway Bridge. From the bridge take US 169 for just over four miles. Take I-29 North / US 71 North direction Kansas City International Airport / St Joseph for approximately ten miles. Take exit 13, the Kansas City International Airport exit. Follow the signs, passing along LP Cookingham Drive, to the airport terminals.
Kansas City International Airport Ground Transportation
Taxis, shuttle buses, limousines, and public transportation all link Kansas City International Airport with the city and surrounding region.
Passengers transfer between the airport terminals, and to and from the satellite parking lots, by using an airport shuttle bus system.
Airport Shuttle Bus System
Kansas City International Airport provides two internal shuttle bus services.
The Red Bus route connects the terminals and circle parking lots. The Blue Bus route connects the terminals with the satellite parking lots. Bus stops for both routes can be found near each terminal entrance and are marked by overhead signs. During peak hours, both services run approximately every ten minutes from the terminals.
Taxi Services
Taxis at Kansas City International Airport are made available through various taxi service telephones located at the baggage claim areas in each terminal and outside terminal exits. Taxis serving the airport are required to carry passengers to any requested location, regardless of journey length. Shared rates are available upon request of the first passenger, providing all other passengers agree. TAXI: Approx $40 - $45.
Limousine or Private Car
Limousines are available for transportation both to and from the airport through a number of private companies operating in the Kansas City area. Companies serving MCI include Airport Luxury and KCI Limo.
Public Transportation
Public buses serve Kansas City International Airport during the working week, Monday through Friday. Operated by The Metro, a local transport corporation, services run on direct routes that connect the airport with downtown Kansas City. Passengers must provide exact change to get tickets from the buses' ticket machines.
Shuttle Bus Services
Numerous companies provide shuttle bus services to and from Kansas City and other cities in the states of Kansas and Missouri. These companies include, amongst many others, KCI Shuttle and KCI Roadrunner Express
KCI SHUTTLE (Hours 5:50am-11:25pm)
$17.00 per person - $29.00 round trip per person. Leaves from Baggage Claim area at 5 minutes to the hour and 25 minutes after the hour. Reservations are not required. For additional info, please call KCI Shuttle service at 800-243-6383. SHUTTLE SERVICE IS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE WITH CHAIR LIFTS* (Maroon vans and buses with yellow lettering that says KCI Shuttle.) There are also KCI shuttles running to Kansas City airport from the Hyatt Regency Crown Center - at 14 minutes and 44 minutes past the hour each day (this information was correct at the time of writing, but please check with the hotel concierge before your return trip to ensure this information is current and correct).

Airport (20 miles):
Take I-29 South to U.S. 169 South (169 turns into Broadway). Proceed on Broad-way to 20th Street. Turn left (east) and proceed to McGee. Turn right onto McGee street. Hotel is 3 blocks uphill on left.
