Behemoths: How to Keep the Big Ones from Getting Away
They said it couldn't be done. A 19th-century
brewery abandoned for 25 years, a two-million-square-foot Sears retail/warehouse
vacant for a decade, the landmark Foshay Tower and Farmers and Mechanics Bank buildings that no longer functioned in today's business environment. Big, single-purpose buildings, historically and architecturally significant, but seemingly impossible to reuse-until the right developers and occupants came along. It didn't take a miracle, just a lot of hard work and creativity by Ryan Companies US, Inc., RSP Architects, and dedicated professional and community team members to bring these buildings back to life.
